NARS Venice Lipstick review

For some reason, it seems like I always get a lot of lipsticks in the summertime. It is probably because I can make my lipsticks last a year, which means I have to buy new ones every summer. When I was picking up replacements of my favorite NARS lipsticks, I also wanted to get some shades that I had never tried before. One of the new shades that I got was called Venice. So, what is my NARS Venice lipstick review?

When I first looked at NARS Venice in the tube, I wanted to just walk away from it. In the tube, the color looks very tacky. It is a light pink lipstick with silver shimmer. However, once I tried it on Venice didn’t look that bad anymore. On my lips, Venice was not nearly as opaque as it looked in the tube. Venice was actually very sheer on my lips add did not add much color to them at all. I think that this is one of the best light pink frosted lipstick shades that NARS makes. What I really like to do after I have applied Venice is put on a clear lip gloss. The lip gloss really completes the look and makes Venice stand out more.

NARS Venice does not look nearly as good in the tube as it does on your lips. However, if you are in a store, don’t let the color in the tube turn you away. You should definitely try Venice on before you decide whether or not you like it. In the tube, NARS Venice looks really opaque but on my lips it looked almost completely sheer. I love doing a smokey eye with this lipstick and think it is a wonderful shade to wear out at night.
